Fairy Tales - Brothers Grimm 

In old times you only could hear a fairy tale from story tellers.
 
In the year 1812 two brothers  Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm 
(EN IS ES GR DE)  made the first book of fairy tales (EN DE) in Germany.

Escape from East to West
Find out from which part of Germany the people were running away.

Example no. 1 Conrad Schumann

August 15th 1961
(two days after the building of the Wall had begun):
The young soldier Conrad Schumann jumps over the barbed wire into West Berlin. He was guarding the new wall. He decided to run away from the east by himself.


Example no. 2 Elke Rosin
Elke Rosin escaped together with her family. The family climbed through the window of their living room.
Fleeing from the building at Bernauer 11 to the west side of the street, August 17, 1961
Only seconds after, her house (Bernauer Straße 11), standing on the border, was sealed (=windows and doors closed forever).
