Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park

Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park is a National Park located in the Pyrenees. It has been a protected area since 1918 and it has been included since 1997 by UNESCO in the Biosphere Reserve of Ordesa-Viñamala and in the cross-border Pyrenees - Mont Perdu World Heritage Site.

The place where we live, near Jaca and Santiago´s Road, is rich in heritage of Romanesque art, especially Romanesque architecture. It is a style of medieval Europe characterized by semi-circular arches. The walls of Romanesque buildings are often of massive thickness with few small openings.

San Juan de la Peña is one of the best representations of Romanesque architecture that we have in Spain.

Paloteau

"Paloteau" is a traditional dance from the Aragonese Pyrenees. It is danced with wooden sticks, and usually each village has its particular "paloteau" with its traditional clothing. It is a tradicion passed from fathers and mothers to sons and daughters.

Spanish gastronomy: "tapas"

Spanish gastronomy is varied and rich. One of its most important elements is "tapas". "Tapas" are small but delicious bites which are usually accompanied with a drink. Spanish people usually have "tapas" at bars as a social interaction.
